A well designed game, just not F2P
I find this game to be really interesting and a neat take on a CCG, to the point Ive recommended it to others. Dont try this game if youre stubborn about spending money on F2P.
That said, the developers prominently advertise "Not pay to win!" Which, while literally may be true, is very very far from plausible based on my first 8 hours of gameplay. To put it in perspective, a daily quest rewarded me 700, and single matches seem to award 30-70 (depending on what mode I think). Scenarios cost 25,000 or 50,000, and to unlock every one is probably around 300,000 If you play a couple hours a day and earn 1000, youll be taking 7 weeks each to unlock those big ones and have unlocked it all in a year, by which time who knows if more content will exist or the game will continue to be supported. Is a year reasonable by todays standards? Maybe Im just old and salty because I have a wife and a job.
Comparing that to the obvious inspiration Hearthstone, in HS unlocking all scenarios based on daily quests probably takes about two weeks a scenario and there are currently 10.
I dunno, not a game designer but I feel like people are quickly going to hit a wall where its pay money or stop because the end of the tunnel is just not in sight.. Paying customers only.
